IT ALL BEGAN...

I didn't seem too invested in my appearance or my hair as a young girl. Some might have called me "low maintenance" even in high school. (which is completely true) Then I moved away to college and at a conference with a few friends (Amanda Heiner, Analee Christensen) we decided to play with doing poofy updos. They were quite poofy and amazing! Then when Amanda needed her hair done before she flew to CA, we decided to see how it was really done! Then I was somehow designated as a "hair stylist"... which resulted in my sister Emily asking me to do her hair for her wedding 7 years ago. I stressed about it. Since then I have done hair for 10 weddings and 15 formals (3 internationally)... and I love it! I wish I had pictures of all of them... so you will have to use your imagination :)

Whitni K Bricker Hollingshead

Whitni had cascading curls that were pinned and also hung down a little over her veil and the side.

Lisa Gasser Sledge

Lisa has naturally curly hair, like me, and she wanted her hair to look naturally like her. So, she scrunched her hair and I styled it up. We did it with no part and some ringlets on the side... yes a few hairs were CUT just for the occasion!

Megan Smith Moe

I loved doing Megan's hair cause she is so creative and has wonderful ideas. We used 2 pony tails to really do fun things with all of her hair without too much height!

Jenni Morgan Sisson

Her hair was really fun! We weaved braids into it for her bridals and the wedding day. It just so happens that one of my favorite hair photo is this one!

Edlira Kocani French

Edlira had me do her hair in Albania, then the following morning flew to Germany to get married ( July 26 2005). Needless to say her hair lasted through sleeping, and an international flight. Her hair is naturally really beautiful!

Rachel Elizabeth Hansen Bricker (ps that is me)

Since I had done most of my best friends' hair and also both of my sisters' hair for their weddinsg, as the time drew near I wondered what to do with mine. I had two wonderful and talented friends offer, but in the end I decided that I wanted to just be able to wake up, do my hair, and go get married. so, I did it myself.

This was the easiest hair for the day. It was quick to do, low-maintenance, and did not need touch-ups during the millions of pics. I think that is why Kate Silvester Barlow and Whitni Bricker Hollingshead decided to do the same thing!

For the preliminary engagement photos, I did a fun scrunched updo with a poofed front. It was also really nice, easy, and kind of more casual for pics.

For our professional engagement photos, I decided to go for the more romantic soft, flowy curls... doesn't that sound feminine! :)

For Bridal pics, I wanted to have something natural looking and not too distracting from my dress and face. So, I did a 1/2 up scrunched do.

ps my photographer is wonderful (Chad Braithwaite http://www.faces-photo.com/)!!
